A new year, a new beginning :)

Wow, I guess this tells you how much of a blogger I am lol! So a lot has happened ever since I have been on here last. I am going to the University of Utah. :) I have to say that again The U of U!!! :D I am very excited to be getting that much closer to fulfilling my major. :) I absolutely love the insitute and get to sing in the choir this coming semester!!! I love to sing. I am feeling blessed. I am a part of a really wonderful ward. I haven't gotten to know all the people yet, but need to. :) Lol! There have been alot of changes in my life, but I wouldn't change them for anything in the world! Hope everything is going well for everyone! May the new year bring nothing but the best for you all! Howdy everyone! It's been awhile since I have updated anything. So ya, I finished spring semester with really good grades. I was really impressed. An A in my research class which is something to shout about because I was really afraid of failing it. And then I got an A- in my technology and educational psychology classes. Choir was wonderful. Need to say that I will really miss Brother Allen and many of the people that were in the choir. :) My sister and her husband moved out of the house and I finally for the first time in my life have my very own room. without having to share with another person or with a bunch of storage. My dad is still out of work. Been really tough, but we are all surviving. Life is good. Hope that all is well with everyone.

So ya, this has been such a wonderful weekend with being able to see conference and celebrating Easter. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to watch conference.

The talks that I really liked were President Uchtdorfs on loving others and being a Christlike example. I also liked Elder Hollands and President Eyrings. It was also nice to have a relaxing 2 days. I then this evening went over to my Aunt and Uncles house and had dinner. It was nice to see some of my family that it seems like it's been forever since I have seen some of them.

I am also so very grateful for music and the choir that I am privileged to be a part of. I have been having the time of my life and met so many amazing people!

I am grateful for the Church and the gospel in my life. I know that my Redeemer lives and that Heavenly Father has a plan for us. We need to look to him and he will help us through any problem that we may have. I know that the church is true and that the Book of Mormon and Bible are true. Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet that restored the gospel on the earth. I know that he as a boy of 14 years old saw Heavenly father and Christ while praying in the Sacred grove. I am grateful for the sacrifices that he went through to make sure that came to be. I am so grateful for the family that I have. The goodly parents that I was put on this earth with. If it weren't for them, I have no clue where I would be. I am grateful for my sister. She is such a great example. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet, I love him. I am just so blessed! Thank you all that have had an impact in my life and have made me the person that I am. Thank you for not giving up on me. I love you with all of my heart! I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

So life is interesting. I have started another semester of school and am going into Elementary Education. I am having alot of fun and am learning alot. I watched the more "Field of Dreams." It was very inspirational. I really enjoyed it. I had never really watched it before. I am greatful for my life and everything and everyone that is in it. :)

So I know that it's been awhile since my last entry. I guess you could say thats what happens when school and life get in the way. So this is an update since last time I wrote on whats been going on in my life lately.

First of all was General Conference. I love general conference and being able to listen to all of our leaders and what they have to say and the council that they give. I had a few favorites that I liked, but I would have to say that Elder Jeffery R. Hollands talk was problaby my top favorite. I really need to go back to the Ensign to read up on all of them again. I love President Thomas S. Monson. He is truly a great leader.

The next thing was halloween. I gotta say that weekend was so busy, but so much fun. I had a hard time actually deciding on what I was going to go as. I would pick one thing one day, and it would be different the next. Finally, I set on being a a black cat which was really cute. I had a really good time at the dance too! It was on October 30th. The next day was halloween. Stewart had a party at his house which I helped out with alot. It was a really fun party. We had a pinata and chili for dinner. We also had the other guests do a quiz to a movie that was about the history of halloween. I didn't take the test because I knew the answers alread. Marian helped out with the party too! It was great. And later we all got a little high on pixie sticks. (Don't ask). I ended up not getting home that night until about 2:30 in the morning. It was awesome!

The next thing that happened was my sisters birthday, she is not a baby anymore! I can't believe that she is 21 years old. Her birthday was November 17th.

Thanksgiving was really nice this year. We had it over at my grandmas house this year. My family that lives in Las Vegas came up for it. It was a blast. Then I went on a big adventure the next morning. As many of you know, I work for Kohl's department store and have been for over the past 3 years. Well, I have never opened on the day after thanksgiving, and this year I did. It was nuts! This was my fourth year doing it and I had to be there at 3:45am! Can you believe it? Not to mention that I got no sleep the night before. I was like the walking dead that morning. Not to mention that I was really not feeling well that morning. I was very suprised that I didn't throw up. I think I wasn't feeling well because of the lack of sleep. But I made it through and it wasn't too bad. Then that day was my moms birthday. We had a nice dinner together with all my family. Then went back to my grandmas and had cake and ice cream. All in all, nice day. I was just a zombie for the rest of the day. But, who can blame me for being so?

The next things that I have done are I got the chance to sing at the Tabernacle on Temple square. This was with Sounding Joy and a bunch of different choirs from different parts of the valley. We each sang a couple of songs as seperate choirs and then sang together 3 songs. It was a wonderful experiance! I just have to complain about one thing, the choir seats are so uncomfortable! It drove me insane. The next thing that we as sounding joy did, was singing at Temple square on December 5th. We sang at the South visitors center at 7pm and then at the assembly hall at 8:30. I love my friends to death! They came up to support me in my singing. Afterwards, we all walked around Temple square. It was a really fun night.

The next thing that Sounding Joy did was a family night where all of our families came and ate and saw us sing. It was alot of fun! Then the next night there was another fireside where sounding joy was a part of it. That was fun as well. I am sad that sounding joy is done for another semester, but I am excited because there are some of my friends of whom are trying out tommorow. I wish them luck and am so excited! I hope that they make it!

This semester has been the bomb! I have met so many wonderful people that are now my friends. I love you all! I am also so excited that I have finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I am going into Elementary education. Finals were tough, but I had the support of so many family and friends that I am so blessed to have. Thank you all! I am eternally greatful! :D

Oh ya, I wish that I had taken pictures! Darn! I guess that I will have to take some at the next get together that we will be having. Not sure when that is, but there will be pictures! As alot of you know, if I get my hands on a camera, I go on a camera happy trip. Lol!

A friday in the life of Amy

So, today was part of fall break. It's been great to get a rest from school (even though I really need to get some homework done) But we shall save that for tommorow in between conference and afterwards. I was able to go to the temple today for the first time in about a year! what a wonderful experiance! I was there with my sister, brother in law kyle and my mom. Kyle was able to do some of the confirmations and baptized me. It makes me wish that I had an older brother. Even though I get enough teasing from Kyle to make up the difference. Lol:D It was extremely busy today, but you also have to put into fact that it's UEA weekend for alot of schools. There were so many teenagers! It was wonderful though. I felt so much better for going and need to go more often! We got there a little bit after 9am and didn't get done until noon.:)

After I got home, I started getting ready for the movie night that I have been planning for like the last month to have. Took awhile for me to clean, but the house looked great! The party was originally supposed to start at 6, but people didn't start showing up till 8. Lol. I just had a thought come to mind Mormon starndard time:D. No, Ryan showed up at about 8 and Marian, Adam and Stewart came later. We watched the Goonies. Oh I love that movie! And the Charlie Brown movie called " It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" I love Charlie Brown! And then we watched, "Hocus Pocus." I hadn't seen that movie in years! I am so greatful for Stewart, Marian and Adam for the great friends that they are in my life! It took a long time, but I have true friends that actually seem to care. Oh ya, did I mention that we had food? Lol! Thanks you guys for making everyday so much better in my life and for always seeming to make me smile! I have some of the best friends in the world! :)

Lifes realizations

So, lately I have been pondering the question as to if I should go on a mission. Well today I got my answer. I was listening to the relief society general meeting and got the impression that I need to continue on with my education and that there will be children out there in the future that will need my help and example. I am reminded about Christ in the bible, "Suffer the children to come unto me." It makes me realize how much more Christlike I need to be in my life. I am grateful for my Savior and his example.

I am also grateful for being able to listen to the general relief society meeting and I know that I am a daughter of God. That I have a purpose on this earth. That he knows and loves each and everyone of us. No matter the circumstances we are in. I am so happy! I know that we all have times when we are down. Times that we think that is there going to be an end? Just keep pushing forward and you will make it! Heavenly Father is there to hold you up! And he will be there to lift you up when you fall.

I am very excited, I am going to be going with my wonderful family to the Temple next friday! I love to be able to do baptisms for the dead. It is such a thrill and a great feeling when you are in the temple. A feeling that you cannot feel anywhere else on the planet! A feeling of peace and joy. Knowing that you are doing the right thing. I am just sad because I haven't gone for about a year. But I am going to be getting my recommend hopefully tommorow or sometime this week! I love the temple and can't wait until I am able to do more:)

As you can see, I am just so happy with life right now! I am getting my education, I have a wonderful family who loves me and supports me. Great friends that are constantly examples to me on a daily basis and who I love very much! I have great and positive outlook in life! I am so very happy! CTR! That is another thought that I had for the day! Life is just so wonderful!

So ya, this is my very first blog. I thought that since everyone else was doing one, why don't I have some fun as well? So I thought that I should give some info about me so those that don't know me as well might be able to learn a little bit more.

My name is Amy Dawn Middaugh. I was born on the 23rd of July. I am 23 years old and am a college student at Salt Lake Community College. I am going into the Elementary education. Which I am hoping to eventually end up at the U of U. This is depending upon my financial situation. I love to sing and am in a great choir at the institute called "Sounding Joy." I love to sing. If I weren't able to, I don't know what I would do:) I love my family. I have one sister and one brother-in-law who is really a designated big brother since I don't have one:) he he! He teases me enough to be a real brother. I am greatful for the gospel and being able to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through going to institute, I have been able to make so many wonderful friends of whom have changed my life. Which I am greatful to each one of you! If you want to know more about me, just ask.
